1.WHAT IS A COOKIE?
An “Internet Cookie” (also known as “cookie browser” or “HTTP cookie” or simply “cookie”) is a small file of letters and numbers that is stored on your computer, mobile terminal or other equipment of a user accessing the Internet. The cookie is installed through a web server request to a browser (eg Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) and is completely “passive” (it does not contain software, viruses or spyware and can not access the information on the hard drive of the user). A cookie consists of two parts: the name and the content or the cookie value. Furthermore, the duration of a cookie is determined; technically, only the server that sent the cookie can access it again when a user returns to the site associated with the web server. Cookies play an important role in facilitating the access and delivery of the many services the user enjoys on the Internet, such as:
Customize certain settings such as: the language in which a site is viewed, the currency in which certain prices or tariffs are expressed, the preservation of options for different products (quantity, other details, etc.).
Cookies provide site owners with valuable feedback on how their sites are used by users so they can make them more efficient and accessible to users.
Allow multimedia or other applications from other sites to be included on a specific site to create a more valuable, useful, and enjoyable navigation experience.
Cookies themselves do not require personal information to be used and, in most cases, do not personally identify Internet users. There are two large categories of cookies:
- Session cookies – they are temporarily stored in the web browser’s cookie folder to save them until the user exits the web site or closes the browser window (e.g., when logging in / logging off from a webmail or social networking account).
- Persistent cookies – These are stored on the hard drive of a computer or equipment (and generally depend on the default cookie lifetime). Persistent cookies include those placed on a website other than the one the user is currently visiting – known as “third party cookies” – which can be used anonymously to memorize a user’s interests so that advertising is delivered as relevant as possible to users.
2. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF COOKIES?
Cookies are managed by web servers. The life of a cookie may vary significantly, depending on the purpose for which it is placed. Some cookies are used exclusively for one session (session cookies) and are no longer retained once the user has left the website and some cookies are retained and reused each time the user returns to that site (“cookie- permanent “). However, cookies can be deleted by a user at any time through browser settings. In general, the role of cookies is to ensure a quick and easy interaction between users and websites. Cookies are also used to allow users to easily resume their activities on the following visits of a previously visited site. Basically, cookies tell the server what pages are displayed to the user, without having to remember the pages they navigated or navigate throughout the site from the beginning.
- 3.WHY DO WE USE COOKIES?
- To recognize new visitors to https://www.mimo.ro/.
- To recognize past visitors.
- To keep your password if you are registered on our site.
- To better understand the interests of our clients and visitors to the site https://www.mimo.ro/.
4.HOW ARE THE COOKIES ON THIS SITE?
Session Cookies. Session cookies are stored on the user’s device during the navigation session. They store an anonymous session identifier, allowing the user to visit a website without having to enter the identification information (username, password, etc.) into each page. Such cookies are commonly used in an online store. For example, when the user visits a particular page and selects certain products, the cookie retains the selected products and adds them to the shopping cart, which will contain all the products selected when the user wants to leave the page. Session cookies are stored in the device memory only during an internet browsing session and are removed when the browser is closed. They can also become inaccessible if the session has been inactive for a certain amount of time.

5. WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION IS STORED AND ACCESSED THROUGH THE COOKIES?
Cookies store information in a small text file that allows a website to recognize a browser. The web server will recognize your browser until the cookie expires or is deleted. The cookie stores important information that enhances Internet browsing experience (e.g., user session id, referral page, time-outs, etc.).
6.WHY ARE IMPORTANT COOKIES FOR THE INTERNET?
Cookies are the central focus of the Internet’s efficient operation, helping to generate a friendly browsing experience and tailored to the preferences and interests of each user. Denying or disabling cookies can make some sites impossible to use. Denying or disabling cookies does not mean you will not receive online advertising – but it will not be able to keep track of your preferences and interests highlighted by your browsing behavior. Examples of important cookie uses (which do not require authentication of a user through an account):
- Content and services tailored to user preferences.
- Offers tailored to users’ interests – language preferences (for example, displaying Romanian search results).
- Provide more relevant advertising to the user.
- Measurement, optimization and analytics features – such as confirming a certain level of traffic on a website, what type of content is viewed, and how a user reaches a website (for example, through search engines, directly from other websites, etc.). Websites run these analyzes of their use to improve sites for the benefit of users.
7.SECURITY AND PROBLEMS REGARDING CONFIDENTIALITY?
Cookies are NOT Viruses! They use “plain text” formats. They are not made up of pieces of code so they can not be executed or even run. Consequently, they can not duplicate or replicate on other networks to run or replicate again. Because they can not perform these functions, they can not be considered viruses. Cookies can still be used for negative purposes. Many anti-spyware products are aware of this and consistently mark cookies to be deleted in anti-virus / anti-spyware removal / scanning procedures. In general, browsers have built-in privacy settings that provide different levels of cookie acceptance, auto-expiration, and automatic deletion after the user has visited a particular site. See the privacy policy.
To improve user experience, we use the following technologies:
Google Analytics We use Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use our websites and web applications. For example, we collect details such as the source of the visit and the total number of visitors to our site and applications. This allows us to determine the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and user activity on our sites and applications. Find out more about the Google Analytics privacy policy here: https://support.google.com
8.HOW CAN I STOP COOKIES ?
Disabling and refusing to receive cookies can make some sites unfeasible or difficult to visit and use. Also, refusing to accept cookies does not mean you will not receive / see online advertising anymore. The browser setting is possible because these cookies are no longer supported, or you can set your browser to accept cookies from a specific site. Some browsers have the “Do not Track” feature that allows users not to be watched while browsing. Blocking cookies or using “Do not Track” can block certain features on our sites. All modern browsers offer the ability to change cookie settings. These settings are usually found in the browser’s “options” or “preferences” menu. To understand these settings, the following links may be useful, otherwise you can use the browser’s “help” option for more details.
